When you lose your parents, it becomes very difficult to adjust with the rest of the family members especially the extended ones. For my case, I lost my dad and my mother who remained with us went through a lot while dealing with rogue inlaws. I call them rogue!
We come from Migori County and my dad was an army officer working in Nairobi and who was in the rank of Warrant Officer One WOO. He was doing so well and used to take care of us at home and school. I had everything I need to go to school.
Sadly, it was on a Saturday morning when we received disgusting news about his demise. He had been crashed by a trailer along busy Mombasa road on his way to Mombasa for private business. This was worst news ever for us! My mother collapsed for three days. She had to be hospitalized to recover. It was not good experience.
This happened when I was by then in Form two while my younger brother was in class eight almost sitting for his final examinations and the last born is a small daughter.
