Unconfirmed rumors circulating widely on social media and within Kampala’s business circles suggest that one of the city’s most talked-about entrepreneurial couples may be facing a serious relationship breakdown.
Mirembe, the founder of the popular Mirembe Beddings brand, and her longtime partner, carpenter Segujja Ivan of Nsambya Furniture, are said to have gone their separate ways amid growing allegations of trust issues.
According to sources close to the situation, Mirembe recently made the decision to move out of the home she shared with Segujja. It is claimed that she transferred her personal belongings—including suitcases, shoes, makeup, and dresses—to her sister’s residence in Rubaga.
Reportedly, she confided to those around her that she could no longer continue living with Segujja, though the exact circumstances behind her decision remain unclear.
Further fueling the speculation are allegations that Segujja may have been romantically involved with one of Mirembe’s close friends. While these claims have not been confirmed, they have intensified public interest in the couple’s apparent fallout and added to the narrative of strained trust within the relationship.
Observers have also pointed to notable changes within Nsambya Furniture as potential signs of the separation. Segujja recently introduced a new female manager at the company, who is now said to oversee both the curtain and furniture branches.

At the same time, Mirembe has not been publicly seen or referenced as a partner in the business, prompting further questions about her current role and involvement.
Sources claim that efforts were made to reconcile the couple, but these attempts were reportedly unsuccessful. Mirembe is said to have moved on, with close observers noting that she has not been wearing her marriage ring for several weeks—a detail that has not gone unnoticed by supporters and followers.
Adding another layer to the unfolding rumors are claims that Mirembe may now be romantically linked to young businessman and politician Yusuf Nkerettanyi. According to speculation, the two reportedly share business interests within the curtains and textile trade.
Supporters and industry watchers have also pointed out a significant increase in Mirembe’s business capital in recent years, sparking curiosity and discussion about the rapid growth of her enterprise and the forces behind it.
Meanwhile, Nsambya Furniture has reportedly taken an unusual approach in appealing for reconciliation. Sources say that songs have been released publicly, directed at Mirembe and urging her to return. Despite these efforts, it is claimed that the gestures have so far failed to persuade her to reconsider.
As of now, neither Mirembe nor Segujja Ivan has made an official statement addressing the rumors. Until then, the story remains one of speculation, closely watched by fans, customers, and Kampala’s ever-curious business community.
