Uganda Slams Canterbury Over Appointment Of Gay Archbishop – Claims She’s A Devil’s Agent

The Anglican Communion is in turmoil after the Church of Uganda blasted the appointment of Rt. Rev. Sarah Mullaly, Bishop of London, as the next Archbishop of Canterbury.

In a fiery statement dated October 3, 2025, Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba of Uganda declared that Mullaly’s outspoken support for same-sex marriage and LGBTQ+ inclusion is “a departure from historic Anglican positions” and signaled a final split from the centuries-old authority of Canterbury.

“This is a grievous decision that deepens the tear in the fabric of the Anglican Communion,” Kaziimba thundered, warning that the highest level of the Church of England has now “separated itself from the vast majority of the global Anglican Communion.”

The letter, circulated to Christians across Uganda, makes it clear that Canterbury no longer carries global authority. Instead, the Church of Uganda is rallying under the banner of Gafcon and the Global South Fellowship of Anglicans, alliances of conservative Anglicans who oppose liberal shifts in Western churches.

“From this day forward, the Archbishop of Canterbury is reduced simply to the Primate of All England,” the statement reads — a bombshell that effectively erases centuries of tradition.

The move sets up a dramatic global divide: England, led by its first female Archbishop of Canterbury, versus a massive bloc of African and Global South Anglicans who insist on upholding “Biblical faith and historic Anglicanism.”

With nearly 40 million Anglicans in Africa, compared to fewer than a million active members in the UK, many are now asking: Has Canterbury lost its crown?

As Archbishop Kaziimba concluded in his dramatic letter: “We will proclaim Christ faithfully to the nations.”

The battle for the soul of Anglicanism has begun.
