Is He Dead Or Alive? Ex IGP Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi’s Condition After Deadly Accident Shocks Ugandans

Former Deputy Inspector General of Police, Gen. Muzeyi Sabiiti, is recovering steadily after surviving a road accident on Thursday night.

According to an update shared by government spokesperson Simon Kaheru, Gen. Sabiiti received treatment immediately after the incident and is now out of danger. Kaheru noted that family members who were travelling with him also escaped serious harm.

“Gen. Sabiiti Update: He has received treatment and is now out of danger and already recovering steadily. The family members he was travelling with are all okay and bearing up well. Give thanks to God. This is a miracle,” Kaheru said.

The Accident

The accident reportedly occurred late last night as Gen. Sabiiti was travelling with his family. While details of the cause of the crash remain limited, emergency responders acted quickly, ensuring that all passengers received medical attention.

Public Reaction

News of the accident and Sabiiti’s recovery has sparked relief among Ugandans, many of whom took to social media to express gratitude that his life was spared. Religious leaders and political figures have also joined in sending messages of quick recovery. It should be noted that Sabiiti was travelling from the introduction ceremony of President Museveni’s granddaughter.

Who is Gen. Sabiiti?

Gen. Muzeyi Sabiiti is a senior officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) who rose to prominence as Deputy Inspector General of Police, serving from 2018 until 2020. He has also held key positions in the army and remains an influential figure in Uganda’s security sector.

A Narrow Escape

As investigations into the accident continue, many have described his survival as nothing short of miraculous. The fact that both Sabiiti and his family walked away with no life-threatening injuries has been taken as a blessing.
