A disturbing audio recording retrieved from a CCTV system at the home of a murdered Entebbe couple has given investigators a major lead in the ongoing probe into the brutal killings.

David Mutaaga, 69, and his wife Deborah Florence Mutaaga, 62, were stabbed to death on Monday night in their home on Research Road, Lugonjo.

Police say the attacker gained entry into the compound undetected, and a violent confrontation followed.

According to detectives close to the investigation, the closed-circuit camera captured not just visuals, but a horrifying audio clip of the attacker confronting the couple.

In the recording, the killer can be heard calling the victims by name, suggesting he may have known them personally.

“Deborah, do you think it’s only you with children? We also want to be well off. You can call whoever you want, but I have come to kill you, and nothing will deter me from fulfilling my mission,” the assailant is heard saying.

The audio has been described as a critical piece of evidence as it reveals not only motive hints but also a level of premeditation.

Security teams are analyzing the voice to assist in identifying the suspect.

The footage and audio have been shared with forensic experts for voice recognition and further verification.

Police believe the motive may be linked to personal grievances or financial envy. No arrests have been made yet, but authorities say the investigation is progressing with promising leads.
