It is not over yet for the embattled Nyendo-Mukungwe MP Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, after a Catholic priest denied him the sacrament of holy communion citing a petition lodged against him.
In a November 2024 petition filed by Julius Ssentamu, Mpuuga who by then grappled with a censure motion developed shockwaves down his spine when the Catholic Church Marriage Court at Lubaga Cathedral entertained a petition filed against Mpuuga alleging infidelity and breaching the church’s laws relating to marriage vows.
Mpuuga, an established midfielder is said to be having a second wife Ann Nancy Nambuusi with whom he has two kids.
The petition addressed to the judicial vicar and head of ecclesiastical court and marriage tribunal, Rev. Fr. Barnabas Mukiibi Bakumpe, indicated that Mpuuga continues to fully participate in the sacrament of Holy Communion, which the church prohibits on grounds of adultery.
In reference to the above petition, a bold Catholic priest in Masaka has declined to grant Mpuuga the sacrament of Holy Communion, tasking him to resolve his pending matter before the marriage court.
Mpuuga, an embattled lawmaker is said to be engaged in multiple extramarital affairs with Mityana woman MP Joyce Bagala whom he bought a brand new house for in Lubowa, along Entebbe road, and several BBS journalists with whom he sleeps around to attract favorable PR on social media.
Mpuuga’s career has shrinked tremendously due to the 500m service award saga that almost saw him thrown out of the Parliamentary Commission alongside other Commissioners involved in the 1.7b heist.
