Cruel Kampala youtuber Dean Lubowa Saava says he is sick and tired of regulatory sanctions the Uganda communications commission UCC keeps slapping on him.
UCC recently got overwhelmed with complaints from Ugandans who said they are victims of disinformation and hate speech by Saava.
These included academicians, MPs, Buganda kingdom officials, top bank executives and businesspersons in Kampala. They petitioned UCC saying that enough was enough. They hired lawyers to petition the regulator claiming that the stinking rich Saava was using his online media platforms to spread hate speech against them.
UCC responded by opening up investivation files against youtube bully Saava who, instead of filing his defense and statement of personal explanation, resorted to attacking the UCC executive director Nyombi Thembo and legal manager Med Kaggwa.
He says that Med Kaggwa one time worked with SIU investigators and received 150m in order to gag his Tv10 investigations aimed at exposing members of a killer squad which had killed more than 150 in and around Kampala.
To be fair to them, the UCC bosses never abused or spread any disinformation or hate speech against Saava. They only did their work by writting asking him to defend himself within 7 days. They wrote to him on 8th January which means the grace period of 7 days that was given to him has expired.
In order to cow and intimidate UCC bosses, Saava also claimed to have protection of the president which prompted Museveni’s press unit to clarify that this isn’t how the president works.
In his latest youtube rant, Saava said he was sick and tired of interference by UCC whose executive director Nyombi Thembo he continued attacking as a person. He branded Thembo a mediocre who doesn’t know what he is doing.
The unhinged Saava confessed to being a frustrated youtuber adding that he had decided to buy and sharpen a panga which he will be moving with. He said he is more than ready to use that panga to behead Nyombi Thembo or any of those process servers UCC lawyers keep sending to deliver summons to his office.
Saava had all along been telling his youtube followers how he is a professional journalist rscognised and licensed by UCC. He would praise the commission and assure all and sundry how they support his work.
Now the same person is saying UCC is full of corrupt and fake actors who he says don’t know what they are doing. He had been attacking lawyers and courts which he is now relying on to accuse UCC of violating the subjudice rule.
He says that UCC should back off and allow court to be the one to investigate into his alleged defamation and hate speech breaches. On Saturday evening, Saava released another youtube video of him making personal attacks on UCC and more so its executive director Nyombi Thembo.
He invited the commission to join him in fighting what he called corruption and poor corporate governance culture in Uganda as opposed to gagging his freedom of speech and expression as a citizen.
Saava’s threats to prepare and sharpen a panga to way lay and behead Nyombi Thembo is something the police and other security agencies could become interested in and thereby creating more troubles for the unrepentant promoter of hate speech.
