Mr. A.K whose style always screams royalty, elegance and makes a statement, was nominated from the OSFAS House on 28th May, 2024 alongside 5 other fashion brands, in the category of African Designer of the year.
On 5th June, 2024 A.K beat the nominations and was eligible to be voted.
He put up a tireless fight and on 19th October of the same year on the 5th edition of the OSFAS awards was declared the winner of the extremely close race.
The 5th edition followed the theme “Celebrating Africa’s Fashion” and was hosted at Accra Tourist Information Center opposite Afrikiko in Accra, Ghana.
Other Ugandans that got nominated in the OSFAS House include; Walter Photography (Photographer of the Year), Kais Divo Collection (Female Designer of the year), Mickey Designs (African Designer of the Year).
Talking to our reporters, The CEO Mr. A.K had this to say;

This achievement is not just a milestone for us; it’s a testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion that drives our brand forward every single day.

MR. A.K : Winning this award is more than just recognition. It reflects the love and support of our incredible community of fashion lovers and the dedication of our talented team. From the beginning, we’ve aimed to create designs that are not just stylish but also meaningful — pieces that inspire confidence, tell stories, and make a difference. This award validates our mission and fuels our ambition to keep innovating.
Our journey to this moment hasn’t been without its challenges. From late-night brainstorming sessions to perfect every detail, to countless fittings and revisions, I have poured all heart and soul into every design.

In the same way that the OSFAS House was able to hold a Fashion Red Carpet that conveyed designers from all over Africa, I implore the Ugandan government to think of fashion as a means of fostering state-to-state cooperation. While in this race, we connected and shared ideas with designers from other African countries and indeed a good time was had!
I reiterate that fashion is a career and not just an additional job, as I constantly emphasise. It might be a useful instrument for promoting interstate cooperation on the continent.
Our reporter: Besides the fashion, tell us about your love life. Are you in any relationship? We would like to know that lucky lady?
I don’t discuss my private life on media. My apologies. Let’s keep the interview in the perimeters of fashion and design. Let the unsuspecting continue being confused. I like it that way, because that’s the strongest tool – I use to keep them in my box; the more they try to find out or think about it, the more it gets confusing. And can never be me to clarify anything because surprisingly people think I don’t know what they think of me yet, it’s actually me who makes them think that way. The best way to keep at the top of your game is by keeping an unsuspecting and confused audience, basics of political science.

Our reporter: A word to the intending fashion designers out there?
Be patient. Fashion is one of those industries that you must give time.
Take the baby steps, any missed step is heavily paid for and most importantly be creative, you can’t go for a monkey dance with no tail.
Be passionate; when you’re passionate it ceases from being work and now becomes a leisure foreample a musician will write a song to de-stress and likewise, incase I am stressed, I start crafting designs and by the time I am done, I feel as fresh as never before.
