A woman who had been living in Uganda sued her husband, the father of their two children. Her husband walked out of their marriage and decided to marry their househelp. She mentioned that she was deeply in love with her husband, and she pursued legal action hoping to find justice, as her situation had become unbearable. The husband, a senior employee at a prominent security firm in Uganda, moved out of their matrimonial home in Ntinda, Kampala. She explained that her husband’s disappearance had severely affected their children and left her feeling lonely, prompting her to seek court intervention, as he had even stopped supporting them.
The woman claimed that her husband told her he was moving to a new house in Kololo but did not specify the location. “The defendant left their matrimonial home with the mistress, disguised as the housegirl, while secretly planning their departure,” court documents revealed. She said that with no means to support herself and their two children, taking the case to court was her last option. She also told the court that she feared the children might face emotional distress, as they were confused about their father’s whereabouts.
Unfortunately, the court dismissed her allegations, leaving her to seek alternative ways of bringing her husband back home. She speculated that her husband, who was wealthy, might have bribed the judges to secure such an unjust verdict.
