A 29-year-old man in Kampala has admitted to being convinced by an unknown individual to use his sister for rituals in the hope of bringing wealth to their family. Robert not his real name says the man persuaded him that by using his sister in the rituals, money would flow into the family, and everything they touched would turn into cash.
Robert is said to have agreed to the plan, and now his sister was possessed by unknown evil spirits. His sister, aged 35, had to leave her marriage after being completely overtaken by the evil spirits. Robert, who later regretted his decision, says he feels he betrayed his sister deeply. He became stressed, wondering why he had made such a destructive choice that had now ruined her life.
One day, he decided to confess to his family that he was the main reason his sister was suffering a confession he says was incredibly difficult. His family wanted to kill him, seeing him as a monster who did not deserve a second chance after betraying his own blood. Fearing for his life, he went into hiding as his family plotted to end his life for the harm he had caused.
“I was no longer welcome at home. I had destroyed my sister’s life by using her in a ritual that didn’t even bring me the wealth I sought. I became an outcast, unwanted by my family,” he said.
