If there is one person who is a Ugandan patriot, then it is the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba. Gen. Muhoozi is one of the few personalities in Uganda that does not want Western world influence in the country.

Just days ago, after threatening the US ambassador William Popp in an X (formerly Twitter) post by giving him an ultimatum: apologise by Monday morning or leave the country. Despite all that saga, Gen. Muhoozi did not state the offence that Ambassador Popp had committed. But anyway, all is good for now.

Again a few days ago, Gen. Muhoozi has posted yet another exciting tweet on his X account. This time talking about the sanctions that the US puts on Africans.

He tweeted, “Africa has never sanctioned the US officials who were involved in the cold-blooded brutal assassinations of our leaders like Patrice Lumumba. If they continue sanctioning Africans, we will sanction them too.”

With this post, it clearly shows that Gen. Muhoozi is giving support to those Ugandans and Africans at large that have received sanctions in Western world countries, not forgetting the recent sanctions that the US put on four Uganda Police Officers a week ago.

Being Uganda’s Independence Day today, Gen. Muhoozi’s post could be a reminder to Ugandans that we are no longer under the influence of the colonialists. We can do what we want.
