Maverick State Minister for Kampala and Metropolitan Christopher Kabuye Kyofatogabye has accused one of the fired Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) leaders of smuggling vital government documents and practicing Witchcraft to survive prosecution.
Last week, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni fired KCCA Executive Director Dr. Dorothy Kisaka, Eng. David Luyimbazi Ssali the Deputy Executive Director and Dr. Danial Okello the KCCA Director in charge of Public Healthy in public interest and directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director Dr. Maj. Tom Magambo to further investigate the trio over allegation of incompetence which resulted into the death of more than 35 people in Kiteezi after the garbage fill buried them alive.
Museveni’s decision to fire the KCCA bosses was backed by an investigation report done by the Inspector General of Government which placed the fired bosses on the scene of crime even though Luyimbazi protested against the findings insisting that they are innocent and will be exonerated in the future.
Even though Luyimbazi insists on innocence, minister Kabuye claims that the fired bosses are panicking and before handing over their offices to their successors who are in acting capacity for three months, some smuggled vital documents from city hall at night to survive prosecution.
“We have the information that they came in a personalized car, entered City Hall and smuggled documents which you think that prosecution will use against you, but what I can tell you is that you are committing another offence of stealing government documents, so stand warned,” Kabuye said.
He revealed that a lot of crimes have been committed at KCCA and the public will be shocked when such evidence is unmasked by the prosecution team during the trial of the fired KCCA bosses at the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court.
He added that many other staff at KCCA are also going to be added on the list of the suspects who are going to face the long arm of the law. He claimed that there was a lot of corruption, nepotism, abuse of office and bribery since the fired bosses took themselves as gods and refused to listen to advice from other leaders in the authority.
He disclosed that rumormongering had become a well-paying job at KCCA which he said has to be stopped by the new regime.Kabuye further alleged that there are people at KCCA who use witchcraft as a weapon of mass destruction and have decided to use it with hopes that the President will overturn the decision to fire them.
He warned that these people are wasting their time because the decision that was taken is irreversible.He advised them to start cooperating with the current leadership and work very hard for the good of the city and the public and forget the fired bosses because they are gone and they will not come back at city hall.
In a related development, Rogers Mulindwa, the ruling NRM party Senior Communications Officer pat Kisaka on the back noting that she has been working under challenging conditions because of the many big people with interests in KCCA.
