With only three days left until the highly-anticipated Mak Guild Dinner, excitement is building up among former Guild leaders, Makerere University alumni, and current students.
As the Makerere University’s Guild Dinner is just around the corner, and the excitement is building up. The Guest of Honour for this prestigious event is none other than Professor Anyang’ Nyong’o, the Governor of Kisumu County and a former Makerere University Guild President.
Professor Nyong’o has had an illustrious career, serving as the Guild President of Makerere University from 1969 to 1970. His leadership skills and academic excellence paved the way for his future success.
He went on to become a renowned politician, serving as a Senator for Kisumu County and the Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement.As Governor of Kisumu County, Professor Nyong’o has been instrumental in transforming the livelihoods of the people of Kisumu.
His vision for a prosperous county is built on integrity, accountability, and effective leadership. His achievements in the Ministry of Planning and National Development are exemplary, and his role in developing the Poverty Reduction Strategy for wealth and employment creation has had a lasting impact on Kenya’s development blueprint.
The Mak Guild Dinner, scheduled for this Friday, promises to be an evening of fine dining, entertainment, and networking. It’s an opportunity for former Guild leaders to reconnect, share their experiences, and inspire a new generation.
The event aims to reunite former Guild leaders and strengthen bonds between Makerere alumni. It’s also an opportunity for current students to learn from the experiences of their predecessors.
The Mak Guild League Dinner will be a highly corporate event that will bring together a distinguished community of former Guild Leaders of Makerere University, alumni, and league sponsors.
This special evening will provide an opportunity to celebrate the collective achievements as a League, share valuable insights, forge new connections, fundraise, and prepare for Season 3 of the Mak Guild League and Launch the Theme for Season 3.
The dinner will feature keynote speeches, gourmet meals, a cocktail, along with ample opportunities for interaction. Additionally, the event will include an awards ceremony to honor outstanding contributions by former guild leaders of Makerere University, followed by an after-party to continue the celebration.
