Lujja Bbosa Tabula, the prime suspect in the murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the former leader of the Ndiga Clan within the Buganda Kingdom, has openly admitted to the crime.

In his confession, Tabula provided three key reasons that he claims motivated his actions. On Friday, Tabula appeared at the Buganda Road Court, where Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi oversaw the proceedings. During this session, Tabula gave a detailed extrajudicial statement confessing to orchestrating the murder of his clan head.

According to a reliable source, who chose to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the case, Tabula’s motive for the murder was deeply rooted in a quest for vengeance. The source revealed that Tabula accused the late Eng. Bbosa and his family of a series of wrongdoings: they were allegedly responsible for the murder of Tabula’s father, Israel, in 1989.

“Tabula has claimed that the late Bbosa and his family members murdered his father, Israel, in 1989, they sold off the Ndiga clan land at Mbale in Mpigi forcing his ancestors to relocate to Namulonge, and that he was trying to secure ownership of the Namulonge land but the late was against his pursuit,” the source revealed.

Furthermore, Tabula claimed that Eng. Bbosa’s family had sold off clan land located in Mbale, Mpigi, which forced Tabula’s ancestors to relocate to Namulonge. Additionally, Tabula was reportedly attempting to secure ownership of the Namulonge land, a pursuit that Eng. Bbosa opposed.

The source also disclosed that Tabula’s confession, which lasted nearly five hours, implicated his 21-year-old nephew, Noah Lujja, as an accomplice. At the same time, Tabula absolved four other individuals from any involvement in the crime.

These individuals include Harriet Nakiguli, 40; Joseph Nakabale, 47; Ezra Mayanja, 44; and Milly Naluwenda, 46.In his statement, Tabula explained that Naluwenda, who serves as the clerk of the Buganda Kingdom’s Tradition Court, was merely involved in informing him of Eng. Bbosa’s death.

Tabula also addressed the discovery of 17 skulls at his shrine in Mpigi, asserting that these remains were intended for ancestral rituals and that he did not commit any murders to acquire them.Tabula is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday at Mwanga II Court for a mention of the charges against him.

The court has been informed that the investigation into the case is now complete.Preliminary police reports indicated that Tabula, in collaboration with Ms. Naluwenda, allegedly hired the individuals responsible for Eng. Bbosa’s murder.

The crime took place on February 25, 2024, near Bbosa’s home in Kikandwa zone, Lungujja Parish, Rubaga Division, Kampala. The prosecution asserts that on that date, the accused and others still at large, with premeditated intent, unlawfully caused the death of Eng. Daniel Kakeedo Bbosa.

Eng. Bbosa was fatally shot by gunmen on a motorcycle as he approached his residence that evening.Following the attack, a group of Boda Boda riders led by Mr. Abdul Katabaazi pursued the assailants, resulting in the death of one of them and the severe beating of Noah Lujja, despite the attackers drawing their weapons in a bid to escape.
