President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter, Patience Rwabwogo, has shared a remarkable story of resilience and faith. Despite being part of Uganda’s First Family, she and her husband, Odreck Rwabwogo, faced a daunting financial struggle that threatened to upend their lives.
The couple had purchased a home in Buziga about 18 years ago, making a significant down payment and committing to regular mortgage payments. However, their business faced unexpected challenges, leading to missed payments and accumulating interest.
“We were paying the loan with income from our business. At some point, we had struggles with our business and we got behind in the mortgage and the interest started piling,” she narrated.
The situation became increasingly dire, with the bank sending a warning letter threatening to advertise their home for sale unless they settled the outstanding amount within seven days.
This harrowing experience could have ended in disaster, but Mrs. Rwabwogo credits divine intervention for their salvation.
“By God’s grace, we found the necessary funds, paid the interest, and brought our account up to date,” she recounted during a recent church service.
Over the next seven years, they diligently worked to clear the entire mortgage, ultimately securing their home and emerging stronger on the other side.
Mrs. Rwabwogo’s personal testimony serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance, faith, and responsible financial management.
As the Senior Pastor of Covenant Nations Church in Luzira, she shared her story to inspire her congregants and others to trust in God’s plan and work towards overcoming life’s challenges.
Beyond her pastoral duties, she is a successful entrepreneur with multiple ventures in agriculture, according to her father, Gen Museveni. Since graduating from university in Minnesota, USA, Patience has demonstrated a keen entrepreneurial spirit, initiating a grain milling business before venturing into cattle farming.
Through her story, Mrs. Rwabwogo highlights the value of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Despite facing financial struggles, she and her husband remained committed to their goals and worked tirelessly to overcome their challenges.
Their experience serves as a testament to the power of faith and hard work in achieving success and securing a brighter future.
