For days, the internet has been at a standstill with netizens from Buganda asking to know the way abouts of the Kingdom King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II as Poison and Death romours take over social media.
For starters, the King has been sick for a while, However, Buganda Subjects are all over the internet requesting to have a sight on his face as death theories surge online.
This after Kabaka’s no-show during the end-of-year celebrations in Enkuuka of CBS FM and the celebrations of his birthday that happened lately,Buganda Kingdom’s Premier, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has finally broken the silence over the alleged worrying health status and death theories of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II.
The development follows the endless concerns from a section of the Kabaka’s subjects who had since then been expressing concern about the Kabaka’s Health condition ever since being flown abroad weeks ago.
From Kabaka looking frail at his previous public appearances to the unconvincing way he was flown abroad for medical attention, subjects have been making background noise as they demanded to know from Katikkiro the health status of the Son of Muteesa.
While addressing a heated Buganda Kingdom Lukiiko seating that went down on Monday 6th morning at Bulange Mengo, Katikkiro urged people to stop asking him to discuss Kabaka’s Health in public.
“I am not a doctor but I can assure you that the Kabaka went abroad to get treatment from physicians. He will make his flight back home following clearance from the medics,” Katikkiro partly stated.
The Buganda King, was last seen in March, just days before his birthday run which happened on April 7, 2024 at Mengo. Many participants who had anticipated to see the Kabaka flag off the run saw their excitement cut short after the Kabaka was a no show.
Instead, the Kabaka delegated the princess royal, Dr Agnes Nabaloga, to flag off the birthday run.Speaking to the journalists in early April, Katikkiro Mayiga would confirm that the Kabaka had left the country on March 21 to Europe, for an appointment with his medical handlers.
The Kabaka is understood to have struggled with ill-health in recent years. In April 2021, he turned up for his 66th birthday celebrations looking frail.The decision to allow the Kabaka out in that state did not go well with some subjects, while it also led to speculations about his condition until Mengo put a stop to it all.
