Fired Hon Mathias Mpuuga Responds To Bobi Wine & NUP

Former opposition leader and Commissioner of Parliament, Mathias Mpuuga, found himself at odds with Bobi Wine after being suspended as the NUP deputy party president for Central Uganda (Buganda).

Mpuuga’s predicament stems from his alleged involvement in the allocation of Shs1.7 billion in service awards, alongside three NRM commissioners, which his party deems as corrupt practices.

Bobi Wine, in a letter suspending Mpuuga, explicitly cited the failure to adequately address his purported role in parliamentary corruption as the reason for the suspension.

Responding via social media, Mpuuga, now referring to Bobi Wine as a “young man,” expressed sympathy towards him and acknowledged his difficult circumstances. However, Mpuuga expressed uncertainty about how he could assist or offer support in such dire times.

“In light of the situation you find yourself in, I extend my sympathy and understanding. It’s clear you’re facing significant challenges, and I’m unsure of how I can be of assistance or support to you,” Mpuuga conveyed.
