Rubaga Division City Residential Commissioner (RCC) Anderson Herbert Burora Reacts After Being Fired

Rubaga Division’s City Residential Commissioner (RCC), Anderson Herbert Burora, found himself suspended by his superior, Hajji Yunus Kakande, in a surprising turn of events yesterday. Acknowledging the decision, Burora has gracefully accepted the verdict and expressed his readiness to move forward after dedicating his service to the President, having previously served as RCC for both Nakawa Division and Rubaga.

Renowned for his uncompromising stance, Burora, a formidable and outspoken presidential envoy, has been particularly vocal in recent times, addressing issues of corruption and the mismanagement of public funds, particularly within the parliament.

It appears that Burora foresaw the consequences of his outspokenness, as he did not hold back in criticizing various shortcomings within the government, including instances of corruption, abuse of authority, and inadequate service delivery.

Taking to his social media platform, Burora, under the pseudonym “X” (formerly known as Twitter), expressed his acceptance of the situation and extended gratitude to those who afforded him the opportunity to serve his country in the capacity of a presidential envoy. He announced a temporary hiatus from media engagements until the following week, leaving his future endeavors undisclosed.

Many observers have linked Burora’s suspension to his recent confrontation with Speaker Anita Among, who has come under scrutiny for alleged misuse of public resources. Burora had openly called for Among’s temporary withdrawal to facilitate an impartial investigation and audit of her activities within the parliament. Despite the pressure, he maintained his stance, declaring his refusal to bow before Speaker Anita Among.

Burora’s suspension marks the second instance within a fortnight of a Museveni-appointed Residential District Commissioner (RDC) being relieved of duties. The first case involved Waiswa Paul, the deputy RDC of Luuka, who faced public backlash after a video surfaced showing him assaulting a young man in Kiyunga town council, reportedly over a refusal to wash his car.
