Five people find themselves facing charges and being held in custody in connection to the tragic murder of Ndiga clan leader, Eng Dan Bbosa, who was fatally shot last month.

The accused, namely Noah Lujja, a 21-year-old mason; Milly Naluwenda, serving as a secretary to a traditional court; Harriet Nakiguli; Joseph Nakabale, a painter; and Ezra Mayanja, appeared before the Mwanga II magistrates court, where murder charges were formally read against them.

During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that on February 25, at Kikandwa Lungujja in Rubaga division, the accused, along with others who remain at large, allegedly with malice aforethought, unlawfully caused the demise of Eng. Daniel Bbosa.

However, the accused were not permitted to enter a plea as their alleged offense is of a capital nature and falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Caroline Mpumwire, the state prosecutor, informed the court that investigations into the matter are still in progress.

The trial magistrate, Adam’s Byarugaba, ordered the remand of the accused group to Luzira government prison, extending their stay until April 4, 2024. The legal proceedings underscore the gravity of the situation surrounding the murder case, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to pursuing justice in this tragic event.
