In the latest installment of the ‘On the Spot’ show, Jim Spire Ssentongo unveiled compelling insights, with a spotlight on his friend, Mr. Obore. Initially hesitant to broach the topic of per diem, Mr. Obore eventually divulged that the Speaker’s official per diem stands at $990. This revelation held significance for Jim Spire, as he sought to corroborate activist Agather’s evidence of $4000 for four activities, deeming it a credible source.

Furthermore, Mr. Obore’s elucidation on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds funneled into individual accounts, including his own, triggered a myriad of disconcerting questions. Concerns were raised by Jim Spire and others about the perceived lack of regulation and transparency in the utilization of taxpayers’ money. The practice of the Speaker receiving funds from various regions to address community needs without clear auditing procedures added fuel to these concerns.

Expressing dissatisfaction with Mr. Obore’s attitude, Jim Spire perceived it as dismissive of the public’s right to demand explanations. He found it insulting that Mr. Obore implied they were doing a favor by providing information. Despite this, Jim Spire acknowledged the opportunity for dialogue but urged a more straightforward and productive approach in future discussions, devoid of diversion tactics.

Viewers’ reactions were diverse. Justice hunter and Phiona Nabusiita criticized Mr. Obore and Speaker Anita Among, calling for accountability and suggesting legal action. On the flip side, I L and Hon. Ndiyo B Jackson commended Jim Spire for his clarity and courage in addressing crucial issues, considering him a valuable asset to Uganda.
