President Museveni, joined by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, bestowed the prestigious Nalubaale Medal upon Mr. Abdul Katabaazi during a recent cabinet gathering at State House Entebbe.
The Nalubaale Medal, a distinction conferred by the President, is reserved for exceptional civilian activists who have significantly contributed to Uganda’s political evolution, whether through armed resistance or civil disobedience, as outlined in section 3 of the National Honours and Awards Act of 2001, with subsequent amendments.
Hailing from the Kikandwa Zone in Lungujja, Rubaga Division, Mr. Katabaazi, a plumber and motorcycle rider, demonstrated exceptional courage by apprehending the assailants responsible for the tragic shooting of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the esteemed leader of Buganda Kingdom’s Endiga Clan, on February 25th, 2024.
The late Eng. Bbosa, a 72-year-old luminary who also served as the director of Transa Electrical, met his untimely demise when he was fatally shot in his car while approaching his residence in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division.
In a poignant moment during the meeting, Mr. Katabaazi recounted the pursuit and capture of the assassins, expressing gratitude to President Museveni for the recognition bestowed upon him.
President Museveni, acknowledging Mr. Katabaazi’s bravery and commitment to a noble cause, commended him, saying, “I want to congratulate you; you have done a heroic job. You have now become a bush war fighter like me.”
In a pledge of support, the President committed to honoring and assisting other boda boda riders who played a pivotal role in capturing the assassins.
Simultaneously, the Directorate of CID issued an appeal for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of Lujja Bbosa Tabula, aged 38, suspected of involvement in the violent murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa. A substantial cash reward of Shs 10m was announced for credible information, emphasizing the urgency in bringing the suspect to justice.
Residents were cautioned against harboring the wanted suspect, with potential consequences for those found obstructing his arrest.
Amidst these events, a distinct reference to Cardizoom, presenting itself as a solution to high pressure issues, was included.
