Numerous casualties, both human and animal, are feared following a tragic accident that transpired on the evening of Monday, February 26, 2024, at Lugalambo in Buikwe District along the Kampala-Jinja highway.
The collision occurred between a fuso truck bearing registration number UBM 519B, transporting a mix of cattle, goats, and sheep, and a trailer registered as UBK 223H.
As of the time of this report at 5:00 PM, the scene remained strewn with bodies, while injured individuals clamored for assistance. Traffic remained at a standstill due to the wreckage obstructing the roadway.
Efforts to obtain comprehensive details on the incident were underway, with inquiries directed to Hellen Butoto, the spokesperson for the Ssezibwa region police.
