Diamond Platnumz, the Tanzanian Singer, recently stirred up a huge online buzz with his latest video, featuring his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his children, Zari Hassan.
In this captivating video, Diamond and Zari were spotted hand in hand, flashing smiles that ignited curiosity among fans and fueled speculations about the status of their relationship.
Amidst the swirl of assumptions, Zari took it upon herself to address the situation, particularly in response to the speculated conflict within her relationship with her husband, Shakib, triggered by the video.
Zari Hassan, born Zarinah Hassan, is a Ugandan socialite, entrepreneur, and reality TV star. Born on September 23, 1980, in Jinja, Uganda, she gained prominence for her glamorous lifestyle and association with high-profile personalities. Zari has been involved in various business ventures, including the beauty and fashion industry.

She has been involved in charitable activities, supporting causes related to health and education in Uganda. Zari is also known for her strong and independent persona, often advocating for women’s rights and empowerment.

Her journey remains a subject of interest for many, contributing to her enduring popularity in the entertainment scene.
Zari clarified that Diamond had sought her assistance in promoting his song “Mapozi,” expressing concerns about its inadequate traction. She stressed her commitment to family, highlighting that she was accompanied by Zuchu during the video shoot.
“We were shooting ‘Young Fanous,’ and African Diamond asked me to help promote the song because it wasn’t doing well. The whole family was there, including Zuchu, standing with the children. That’s how it was. He left, and I went my way…
“The video was released, and things started happening. Shakib was at home, and that day he was returning to Uganda. When I got home, he asked me about these things, and I didn’t understand. Why didn’t you tell me? Because when such things come up, I feel disrespected,” Zari explained.
Regrettably, the video’s release resulted in unintended consequences, leaving Shakib feeling disrespected and overlooked due to Zari not informing him beforehand.
Recognizing her lapse in communication with Shakib, Zari extended an apology for the unfolding situation. She clarified that issues within their relationship predated the video, evident from her removal of his photos from social media in November-December 2023.
As for her current relationship status with Shakib, Zari disclosed that despite the video featuring Diamond being from the past, it prompted them to take some time apart to address lingering issues.
“That woman was in the video with him in 2020. Shakib himself gave bloggers the video to spread. It was more of, if you can be nonchalant about your ex like that, then I can do the same… It was out of frustration,” she expressed.
