National Unity Platform (NUP) legislator Zaake Francis has blasted local artist Gravity Omutujju, asserting that the party has more pressing matters to attend to than the singer’s demands. Omutujju had vocally requested a hospital from NUP’s leader, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, alleging that despite his wealth, Bobi Wine had not contributed to the community.
Expanding on his plea, Omutujju not only asked for a hospital but also suggested that Bobi Wine allocate his sizable Busabala beach land for this purpose. Bobi Wine chose not to personally respond, leaving his supporters to address Gravity Omutujju, urging him to refrain from pressuring their leader.
Critics advised Omutujju to redirect his plea to the government, emphasizing that regardless of an individual’s wealth, demands for public facilities should be directed to the appropriate authorities. MP Francis Zaake, representing NUP, firmly stated that Gravity should not anticipate a response from any NUP members, as they are preoccupied with more significant issues.
“We won’t entertain Gravity; our focus is elsewhere. Numerous individuals like him may emerge, but we won’t divert our attention to them,” Zaake declared, highlighting the party’s commitment to prioritizing substantial issues over individual requests.
