Natasha Museveni Karugire, fondly referred to as Kukuru by her father, stands as a prominent figure among the children of Uganda, being the second-born child and eldest daughter of President Yoweri Museveni and Janet Museveni.

Beyond basking in the limelight of her parental ties, Natasha has carved out her own niche as a versatile individual, donning hats as a writer, fashion designer, consultant, and film producer.

Born in 1976 in Tanzania amidst her parents’ refugee status, Natasha, at 47 years old in 2023, radiates an ageless charm akin to her mother’s timeless allure.

Her siblings, including older brother Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Commander of Special Forces of Uganda, and sisters Patience, a pastor, and Diana, an actress, contribute to the varied landscape of the Museveni family.

Enter Edwin Karugire, the fortunate man who captured Natasha’s heart—a wealthy Ugandan businessman and lawyer. Their union in 2000, attended by prominent African figures like Aysha M. Al Gaddafi, marked a celebrated chapter in their lives.

While the Karugires are parents, the details about their children remain veiled, with only the birth of their first daughter in 2001 documented.

Natasha’s educational journey weaves through prestigious institutions, including Nyeri Complex in Kenya and the University of London, where she delved into Fashion and Design.

Balancing multiple roles with grace, Natasha extends her repertoire to film direction, evidenced by her 2018 biopic, “27 Guns,” chronicling Uganda’s Bush War. As an author, she penned an autobiography, “What’s in a name: Kainembabazi,” in 2011, offering a glimpse into her life as a president’s daughter, and another work titled “Nzima and Njunju: A Story of Two Friends.”

Adding to her list of responsibilities, Natasha serves as the presidential assistant overseeing the household at State House, Entebbe.

Her base in Uganda aligns with her duties at State House, where she remains close to her family.

Natasha’s affection for her father is evident through her active involvement in his reelection campaigns, notably in the 2006 and 2021 general elections.

In the realm of social media, Natasha commands a presence with over 39.5k followers on Instagram (@natasha_museveni_karugire), sharing glimpses of her life, family, and friends.

In essence, Natasha Museveni Karugire emerges as a multifaceted personality, seamlessly navigating her roles in family, career, and public service with grace and poise.
