Apio Sarah, a 26-year-old resident of Adum cell, Adum ward, Team Town Council in Amolatar District, is currently in police custody on suspicion of killing her husband, Oyari Felix, through assault.The tragic incident reportedly occurred on January 29th, 2024, following a heated argument between the couple.
Allegedly, during the altercation, Sarah wielded a piece of dry firewood, striking Felix on the forehead with its sharp end.Felix, aged 43, suffered severe injuries and lost consciousness as a result of the blow. Sarah then purportedly brought her husband into their home, where his condition deteriorated overnight.In a desperate attempt to seek help, Sarah contacted her husband’s relatives.
Tragically, while en route to the hospital, Felix succumbed to his injuries.Authorities were alerted to the situation when the deceased’s brothers reported the incident to the Etam police post. Upon receiving the report, law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended Sarah as she attempted to flee the scene.Sarah is currently detained by police pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, Felix’s body has been transferred to Amolatar HCIV for post-mortem examinations.Speaking on behalf of the North Kyoga Region Police, spokesperson SP PJ Okema informed news reporters that once the investigation concludes, the case file will be forwarded to the Regional Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Officer (RCISA) for review and legal guidance. Subsequently, Sarah will face charges of murder in court.
