In a recent event at the Bombo Military Barracks where several army officers, including Four Star General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, were honored for their promotions within the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) by Commander in Chief Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the national coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation, Gen. Salim Saleh, openly expressed his admiration for Gen. Muhoozi’s military prowess.

Gen. Saleh, alongside his wife Charlotte Muhoozi, applauded the promotion of his friend, Gen. Muhoozi, to the same rank, citing his unwavering belief in Muhoozi’s capabilities and expertise. He reminisced about instances where Muhoozi had surpassed him and other army officers, particularly in areas where they had encountered challenges. Gen. Saleh recounted a scenario where he struggled with the concept of forming a heliborne unit, which Gen. Muhoozi later excelled in by conceptualizing the Special Forces Command.

This acknowledgment serves as a timeless reminder to other officers who may have underestimated Gen. Muhoozi, who has long been seen as a potential successor to his father, Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership aspirations have garnered support from numerous senior government and military officials, solidifying his position as a formidable contender for future leadership roles.

During a recent visit to Kabale, the leadership associated with the MK project outlined key issues such as corruption, unemployment, infrastructure development, regional integration, and women and youth empowerment, signaling Gen. Muhoozi’s preparedness to address these challenges if given the opportunity to assume leadership at State House.
