Bebe Cool, for a long time now, has been compiling an annual list of musicians who have made his year when it comes to releasing music in the industry.
As years have gone by, he decided to spice things up by saying he is to start giving prizes to everyone that made the list.At first, he stated that he would compensate every winner with a sum of 5 Million Uganda Shillings, thanking them for their hard work.
He then stated he will give the winners a house each, something that Dax Vibes is still waiting for until this day.Well, Pallaso has also come out to mention that Bebe Cool is all talk and no action as it has been ages since Pallaso appeared on his list, not once but twice and he still has bot recorded his token as earlier on promised.
According to Pallaso, when Bebe Cool promised the 5 Million, he called Bebe Cool to collect his prize but to his disappointment, he made the line busy! When he tried to contact Bebe again, he told him he would get in touch with him to give him the reward, something he did not do as promised. Pallaso therefore said that he told the list maker not to include him on his list again until he clears the earlier accumulated debt.
Meanwhile, the Bebe Cool List has always been controversial. When it was released recently, Mr. Lee of Kampala Boys punched holes in the List, saying it was biased and that a singer of Cool’s stature shouldn’t be involved in compiling lists.
“Bebe Cool should tell us if he’s retired, His only song now is the list. He no longer concentrates on music…” said Lee, real name Richard Mugisha, while speaking to the media.
According to Mr. Lee, Bobi Wine, who is Bebe Cool’s longtime nemesis, used to warn them about his unseriousness. That Cool, real name Moses Ssali, only makes controversial statements to farm attention from the media.
“Bebe Cool is a chaotic man. Bobi Wine told us sometime back to never take Bebe Cool seriously. But it’s hard not to take him seriously because he talks with a straight face during interviews… Bebe Cool’s annoying. He is in the same age bracket as the likes of Don Jazzy but for them they are impactful. If you look at what Jazzy has done for the Nigerian music industry, supporting new artistes.” Mr Lee Said.
About supporting the music industry, through Gagamel International, Bebe Cool has supported several artistes and also mentored some on the side.
